Thanks to the initiative of 9 young members within the GenerationEurope network, and the recently concluded three-year project, we are pleased to present our Podcast project ‘Ai Nostri Tempi, an Intergenerational Dialogue on Current Issues.

The Podcast is available on the Spotify platform at the link below. The young people have prepared a series of episodes focused on intergenerational dialogue through current topics: the relationship with nature, artificial intelligence, sports as a tool for inclusion, socio-educational interventions for disadvantaged youth prone to crime, and reflections on the perception of happiness.

In the audio below (in italian), we can hear firsthand testimonies presenting the project during a radio broadcast as guests of Wideline Radio in Pordenone.

Artificial Intelligence: Discovering the New Frontier of the Digital Era
In this pilot episode, Roberto Capobianco, a researcher at SonyAI and external collaborator at Sapienza University, guides us through the world of Artificial Intelligence, the new technology revolutionizing the workforce and beyond. He explains its workings, opportunities, and risks.

Generations at Risk
The younger generations enjoy an important advantage that must not be wasted: the ability to still choose their future. Therefore, making the right choices, pursuing their dreams and goals, is essential to realize themselves in the world of the future. However, unfortunately, this does not always happen.
In this episode, we analyze the problem of juvenile delinquency, trying to understand its causes, developments, and consequences, while discussing potential precautions or solutions to limit this issue.
We will discuss this with two guests who have been working in this field for years: Pietro Galluccio and Emilio Vergani.

Pietro Galluccio: Journalist and trainer, founder and president of InformaGiovani ETS, an association that has been dealing with youth information and educational mobility projects within community programs since 2001. For nearly 20 years, he has been carrying out activities and inclusion projects for young people in the criminal justice system, collaborating with various offices of the Department for Juvenile Justice. These young people, who committed crimes as minors, are now undergoing inclusion and rehabilitation programs. They participate in Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps projects.

Emilio Vergani: Consultant, evaluator, and trainer specializing in organizational and social responsibility issues for businesses and public administration. He collaborates with the Lumsa Santa Silvia University in Palermo, teaching courses and workshops on project design, evaluation, and needs analysis. He also trains national managers of the Penitentiary Administration.

Nature that Unites and Divides Us
In this episode of the “Ai Nostri Tempi” podcast, we explore one of the most discussed topics of all time: nature and its ongoing changes, aiming to understand the variables that have caused this shift over time. We will analyze how factors like climate, urbanization, agriculture, and industrialization have affected nature, with a particular focus on differences linked to the respondents’ places of origin. Each community has experienced this transformation differently, and the experiences and perceptions of individuals change based on local specificities.
Through the opinions and testimonies of people from different generations, we will listen to various age groups, aiming to better understand the relationship with nature. A journey to reflect together on the environmental challenges of the present and potential solutions for the future. At the end, we will discuss the responses with an environmental expert, a friend, and together, we will summarize what emerged from this discussion. We invite you to join us in this journey, participate in the reflection, and share your experiences and opinions to continue growing together in understanding the challenges and solutions for our ecological future.

The Secret of Happiness
In this episode, we explore the theme of happiness, trying to understand how different generations experience and interpret it. Today, in an ever-changing context, happiness seems to be a more elusive concept than in the past. But what did happiness mean for people in the past? And what can we learn from them?
Together with Paola, a psychologist, we will discuss the differences between younger and older generations, highlighting the changes in priorities, values, and expectations that accompany the pursuit of happiness. The life experiences, social, and economic challenges of each era deeply influence the way we think about happiness.
We decided to explore this topic to better understand how the perception of happiness has changed over time and how intergenerational dialogue can help us reflect on what truly matters in life. In a world that is becoming increasingly hectic, we believe looking to the past can offer us insights on how to live more serenely in the present.

Loved Without Prejudice
We believe that the journey to self-awareness and discovering our interests and preferences is filled with prejudices. When it comes to sexual preferences and gender identity, the process seems even more challenging, as often external references are sought in the way others try to understand themselves.
This episode aims to explain why we are all different in terms of sexual tastes and our relationship with our bodies. We will discuss this with people from different generations who stand out for their distinctions from mainstream trends and who are often labeled within the LGBTQIA+ community—a group that many see as a source of strength. We will take this opportunity to learn more about this community.

“Seeing with the Heart: Sports and Accessibility”
Though a niche topic, in this episode of “Ai Nostri Tempi,” we discuss the fascinating subject of sports practiced by people with sensory disabilities in its most inclusive form. By analyzing the individual stories of associations, blind athletes, and the volunteers who support them during training and competitions, we delve into the motivations, challenges, and ambitions of those facing such a unique challenge—something that may be hard to understand for most people.
Thanks to the testimonies of Ada, Matteo, Andrea, and Cinzia, we can clearly see the profound satisfaction and intense emotions experienced, as well as the dedication of athletes, trainers, and organizers that have allowed blind individuals from all over Italy and of all ages to achieve remarkable, non-obvious goals.
